Antalya - Phaselis - Kas

First stop this morning is a supermarket to pick up supplies for a picnic lunch - very large - good selection - rolls and smoked salmon are always no. 1 on our list. Bought a carton of milk which once opened turned out to be liquid yoghurt - the perils of being a traveller. Just before lunch we stopped at the ancient city of Phaselis founded in the 7th century BC. The city was built on 3 small bays surrounded by woods and mountains. We stopped here for our leisurely picnic lunch - a lovely spot but very warm and humid on the coast. We then drove along the beautiful coast road to the picturesque seaside village of Kas where we are staying for the next 2 nights. Fish for dinner in the town tonight - a change from the traditional Turkish fare of kebabs and Turkish pizza - the food here is quite a step down from Italy and Croatia. If you don't like eggplant here you would die of starvation - luckily we love it. We are happy to be back at the coast again - tomorrow we are off sailing and swimming all day - can't wait as it was 40 degrees today and the humidity was horrendous.

Just love Turkish stop signs......Dur
