Spent an exhausting day in Dubai Mall - we were feet sore before we even reached the entrance. The metro stop said "Dubai Mall" but omitted to mention the 2k walk on tiles (under cover of course) - what a hike! Too big and brash for our liking but being Dubai this is what most buildings and sites are. The ride to the 124th floor of the Burj Khalifa was amazing - so quiet, so still and so so fast. Disappointing at the top though as very little to see with the haze from the sandstorm.
Joined the throng of thousands to see the Dubai Fountain - quite spectacular but over in a couple of minutes. Had a lovely meal of lobster and scallops in the Mall - very reasonably priced considering its location.
Took the metro home - still can't believe how pristine the stations are and the trains also - no dirt, litter or rubbish to be seen - just gleaming white tiles and chrome.
Dubai Mall is huge
Even an aquarium in the Mall
Hazy view from the 124th floor
Thousands watching the fountains
Dinner was delicious

Finally back to the hotel to rest our aching feet and believe it or not we walked from the station in rain - we are told this happens only 2 or 3 times a year so we have been lucky to experience it.
