Still keep pinching myself that I am actually here in Dubrovnik - never thought I would ever be in Croatia - we just love it here. We are even getting used to the steps - we do limit ourselves to one trek a day though. Another easy day yesterday, for me anyway - Gary walked down, down, down for lunch supplies and we took a ride in the cablecar just on dark last night. Didn't think the view would be much different than from the apartment but you could see much more - amazing views again. There was a cruise ship leaving the port - quite a sight. We spent so much time after sunset waiting for the lights to come on that it was nearly 10 by the time we made it down for dinner - just a pizza tonight.
Left early this morning to beat the heat and walk the northern part of the wall - more lovely views - this place is so photogenic. We knew we had to get a visa upon entry to Turkey but did not realise it had to be in euros or US dollars - no credit cards - so off to the bank to buy some euros. Strange really when Turkish lira is the currency in Turkey.
Need to repack our bags this afternoon - only allowed 20k on the next 2 flights and one is grossly overweight - at least 6k - never leave home without our luggage scales. We have closed one bag down but will have to load up the backpacks for cabin luggage. Coming home is fine - 30k - I can spend up big up in Turkey!
We are sad to be leaving - Dubrovnik is one of our favourites on this trip or indeed any of our trips - would put it up there with Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Patagonia - it truly is an exceptionally beautiful setting. We are leaving for the airport at 5.30 tomorrow morning - what a ghastly time - so my next blog will come from Istanbul, hopefully.

Different pizza - fried egg and baby lobster |

Ours is the pink one - to the left of the 2 on the balcony - recessed |
The wall is quite steep in parts - just what we need - more steps! |
The MSC Divina on its way to the main cruise terminal |
